Shanti is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life, improving the well-being, and promoting the independence of people living with HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses. Shanti is committed to delivering services that are culturally relevant, client-centered, non-judgmental, and responsive to the changing needs of people living with these life-threatening illnesses. We aim to support the dignity and self-esteem of people as they find their own solutions to the challenge of disease.

The Shanti L.I.F.E. Institute provides curriculum development, training, technical assistance, research, and consulting to health departments and agencies across the country. The L.I.F.E. institute also owns and operates L.I.F.E. Program® interventions, which are effective self-management and health-enhancement programs for people living with an HIV. L.I.F.E. is designed to simultaneously boost the immune system, reduce risk behavior, increase adherence to health routines (including medications), and increase engagement in healthcare, all of which work together to improve overall health. Currently programs developed by Shanti are offered in 19 sites  in California, Florida, Illinois, Lousiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, and New York.
